It’s clear to say that the game does deliver when it comes to the graphical department, although it’s not as pretty as modern racers. Since this is a racing game, I didn’t really understand why a quality mode was an option, as it’s clearly not the best way to play this new version of Hot Pursuit at all. If you go for the quality mode, you’ll have some extra nice graphical elements but those come at the cost of your refresh rate. This is by far the most important improvement in the Remastered version, taking the game to new heights and resulting in a way smoother overall experience. Performance mode is the most crucial one here as it will enable you to race at a 60fps refresh rate, which worked surprisingly well on my Xbox One X. Like many games today, you can switch between performance and quality mode to give you the best possible way of playing the game. That being said, the game still carries over the same feeling of the original release and performs pretty well. In all honesty, you won’t really see much of the actual map since you’re racing at an incredible speed, but once you do take the time to look around, you’ll see that not all textures are as good as they should be. It’s a shame Seacrest County didn’t get the same treatment as it’s clearly showing its age when you look around you. It’s clear a lot of polishing went to the car models and it really paid off. But, that’s nothing to worry about, all things considered, all cars look extremely realistic and match the standards of modern games today. The cars all look detailed and shiny although they’ll never look as good as in, let’s say, the modern Forza Horizon games. Right from the start, you’ll notice that the team really tried hard to make a ten-year-old game look on par with nowaday’s standards. Before we dive further into the gameplay elements, let’s first address the most crucial part of any remaster: the graphics. Since this is a Remastered version of the game, you won’t have access to a new map but travel back to the open-map of Seacrest County where there’s plenty to do. It’s no surprise that EA decided it was time to give this game a second life with a Remastered version, but is it any good? Let’s find out! The combination of a high-paced arcade racer and the constant fight against the police forces made Hot Pursuit an instant classic and fan-favorite. Criterion Games developed the original release and had tons of experience thanks to the Burnout franchise. Last but not least, Stellar Entertainment studio worked to remaster Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. When Need for Speed Hot Pursuit first launched way back in 2010, it was considered one of the best arcade racers ever created. We also get cross-platform support along with more achievements, improved photo mode, and more. Some aspects of the remastered game include the usual visual upgrades, higher-resolution models, more objects, long draw distance, and more. EA is also marketing its Need for Speed Hot Pursuit around a similar campaign of beating 5:10. The teaser video spent the time focusing on the lap time of 5:10 (or 5 minutes and 10 seconds). Looking at the video, we saw a somewhat mock video showcasing rivalry between two gamers about achieving the fastest lap. Finally, Nintendo Switch users will need to shell out or about Rs 3,000.Īs part of the announcement, the company also shared an announcement trailer on its social media handles. It is also available for Rs 2,499 on PlayStation Store. Xbox One or potential Series X/S buyers can get the game for Rs 2,500 from Microsoft Store. Inspecting the prices, PC gamers can pre-order the game for Rs 1,999 from Steam or EA Origin. EA also revealed that the game is now available for pre-order on multiple platforms. Rewinding the clock, the game allowed players to either play as a racer or police with a dedicated “Career” mode. The announcement for the launch comes after multiple cryptic teasers on social media. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit announced details We were hoping if the company could match the launch date of the remaster with the original. For some context, the original launched on November 16, 2010. Looking at the information, the new launch comes just about 10 years after the launch of the original version. A week after the launch, it will also make its way to Nintendo Switch. The game will land on PC, Microsoft Xbox One, and Sony PS4 on November 6. As per the announcement, the company announced the anticipated remaster of Need for Speed (NFS) Hot Pursuit.
